Kenyan stories of healing and overcoming

The Kenyan assemblies once again hosted a tremendous rally in the small town of Masii in the Machakos County. Over 400 adults attended despite the drought conditions in the country prohibiting many from attending.

This year’s theme was “The Uncompromised Gospel” to which the many speakers provided encouragement to the saints to stand fast in the Lord and to speak boldly the powerful but simple message changing lives. Many stories were heard of lives wonderfully changed by the power of God. Here is just a sample:

  • Pr Boniface, who was baptised and Spirit-filled as a young boy, spoke of boldly praying for a number of people including a lady close to death who was healed and returned to a normal life.

  • Daniel spoke of his former life being filled with many problems. When growing up he was a strong stammerer and could not stand in front of people and say anything. After being baptised and receiving the Holy Spirit he was completely healed. Daniel then spoke of praying for other sick people and also seeing them healed.

  • Justina told her story of enduring tremendous persecution from religious groups continuously throughout her school years. This was even more intense at university however Justina staying strong in the Lord and sought opportunities to speak to people of her experience. Consequently, several people were baptised and Spirit-filled including Peter who attended the rally.

  • Regina explained of the extreme hardship she faced as a new convert. Both her husband and his family (her father in law is a witch doctor) were strongly against her involvement in the Revival Fellowship and did everything to try to stop her attending. Regina was beaten many times, chased from the family home and required to explain her rebellion to the local tribal chief. Not giving in and supported by the church, Regina continually sought the Lord and after 7 years saw her husband baptised and Spirit-filled, speaking in tongues.
